ASC Surgical Safety Checklist for Ophthalmology

print

ASCs participating in the new Medicare quality reporting program must adopt and use a surgery checklist in 2012 in order to attest to checklist use in 2013. ASCs that do not participate in the quality reporting program will face a 2 percent cut to their Medicare payments in 2014. The checklist was created with input from the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses and the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society.
