Deadline Approaching: Submit 2016 Meaningful Use Hardship Exemption by July 1 to Avoid 2018 Payment Adjustment

Eligible professionals (EPs) can avoid the EHR Meaningful Use payment adjustment that begins on January 1, 2018, by submitting a hardship exemption application by July 1, 2017. To file for a hardship exemption, CMS requires that you show proof of a circumstance beyond your control and explicitly outline how the circumstance significantly impaired your ability to meet Meaningful Use.

Spotlight on Operation Sight: Successful National Program Continues its Work

Operation Sight, an ASCRS Foundation national program, has delivered more than 1,100 free cataract surgeries to low-income Americans. The program will hold its second annual National Sight Week effort from October 16-20, 2017. The inaugural National Sight Week in October 2016 had a surge of more than 200 cataract surgeries from Operation Sight’s network of volunteer ASCRS member surgeons and practices. The event garnered numerous media mentions, including this video.

Claim Credit and Evaluate Sessions for the 2017 Annual Meeting by Friday, June 16

Attendees of the 2017 ASCRS•ASOA Symposium & Congress in Los Angeles can claim credit and print their credit certificates online through Friday, June 16.
