Senate Confirms Seema Verma to Lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

On Monday, the Senate voted 55–43 to confirm President Trump’s nominee for CMS administrator, Seema Verma.

As we have reported, Ms. Verma is president, CEO, and founder of SVC, Inc., an Indianapolis-based national health policy consulting company. She advised Vice President Mike Pence on healthcare issues when he was the governor of Indiana, and she is the architect of the Healthy Indiana Plan, the nation’s first consumer-directed Medicaid program.
