The ASCRS ASOA Health Information and Technology Committee (HIT) has developed many health IT resources to ensure ophthalmic practices have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. Below is a summary of recently released resources:
- Health IT Benchmarking Survey Report. The ASCRS ASOA Health IT Benchmarking Survey Report compares how ophthalmic practices are meeting health IT needs and how much they are spending on that technology. This report analyzes survey data collected from members and provides ophthalmic practices with a tool to compare their own spending to other similar practices. Download the report.
- Cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is a key priority for ophthalmic practices to ensure patient and practice data is kept safe and secure. To assist ophthalmic practices in understanding cybersecurity, the ASCRS ASOA Health HIT Committee developed many resources to help protect patient and practice data. - Telemedicine. In response to the increased use of telemedicine and its impact on the delivery of ophthalmic services, the ASCRS ASOA Telemedicine Task Force created the guide, “Introduction to Tele-Ophthalmology,” as an educational resource for physicians and administrators to learn about tele-ophthalmology. ASCRS ASOA members have exclusive access to this guide, designed to educate readers on the benefits of tele-ophthalmology, various delivery methods, reimbursement, potential liabilities, and challenges. Access ASCRS ASOA tele-ophthalmology resources here.
