ASCRS Improves Web Site

Fairfax, VA – The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Web site, www.ascrs.org, has been restructured, with a new interface, and a more user-friendly navigation system.

“Time is at a premium for our members, and the new site design makes it easier and faster to find the information they need,” said ASCRS Executive Director, Dave Karcher, adding, “Using a “bread crumb” system, users delve into the deeper levels of the system while keeping track of where they’ve been.”

The new site makes it easier to access meeting information and registration, Eye-Mail, abstract archive searching, register employment openings and seek employment, CME opportunities, documents on demand, the ASCRS Image Library, political and regulatory affairs information, and more.  Many areas of the site have also been enhanced such as our new, more efficient abstract search, and the ability to upload Eye-Mail attachments to the website.

Advisory for Ophthalmic News Media:  Much of the information on the ASCRS Web site is proprietary or tailored for members.  Access to information on the site is dependent on a site user’s relationship to ASCRS.  For example, ASCRS members have full access to all areas of the site, while the general public is restricted.

As a courtesy to the ophthalmic news media ASCRS offers access to information not available to the general public. Please send your name, title, publication, mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address to jciccone@acrs.org to register for the press category of web site users. The press group shall have access to the following: about ASCRS section, ASCRS Foundation, membership-join, membership-benefits, meetings, government relations-advocacy, government relations-regulation, government relations Washington Watch newsletter, ASCRS awards, documents-on-demand, press releases, contact us, site map, links, help, and the Foldable IOL Survey.
