2007 ASCRS ASOA Symposium and Congress
Criteria for Complimentary Press Registration and
Application Link

The 2008 ASCRS•ASOA Symposium and Congress will be held April 4-9 at the McCormick Place West Building in Chicago, Illinois.   

 

Complimentary press registration is limited to working journalists of the general and medical press.  Press registration will not be extended to management, publishing, marketing, advertising or administrative personnel, organizations that primarily produce live audio, or audiovisual continuing education resources, or advocacy organizations, etc.  Press credentials are required.

 

Members of the press are strongly encouraged to pre-register.  Those who have not pre-registered may register onsite in the Press Room during scheduled pressroom hours (see below) and must provide documentation of their status. (Note: The room location has not been determined at this time.  A follow- up e-mail will be sent with a press conference schedule when it becomes available.

 

Trade Publications:  Reporters from industry trade publications must provide a business card with an editorial title and a current masthead that includes their name and a sample, or web site link, of a bylined article published within the past six months.

 

Business Publications/News Wire Services:  Reporters from magazines, newspapers and wire services must provide a business card with an editorial title and a current masthead that includes their name and a sample, or web site link, of a bylined article published within the past six months.

 

TV/Radio:  Broadcast reporters and producers from news organizations must provide a business card and proof of assignment. Camera/sound crews must provide broadcast station ID and proof of assignment.

 

Market Research Staff and Analysts:  Analysts and writers from internationally recognized market research or financial institutions, who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports, must provide both a business card with an editorial title and a sample, or web site link, of an industry-related report published in the past six months.

 

Freelance Writers and Authors:  Persons requesting freelance credentials must provide an original letter of assignment and a bylined article published within the past six months. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials.

 

Onsite registration is not guaranteed. We reserve the right to deny press passes or to require payment after the meeting for individuals or organizational representatives subsequently determined to have registered fraudulently or in error.

and fill out the electronic form.

 

To receive your badge by mail, you must register by February 2, 2008. If you register after that date, you will need to pick up your pass in the press room. If you receive your pass by mail, you can pick up a badge holder in the registration area.

 

For those who register on site, it will be necessary to present appropriate identification, and documentation as noted above at the ASCRS Press Room. A registration form will need to be completed. Once approved by Press Room staff, the form can be taken to the Balance Due or Course Addition counters in the registration area to receive a pass.

 

ASCRS Press Room Hours: Friday, April 4: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Saturday, April 5, through Tuesday, April 8: 8:00 am–5:00 pm; Wednesday, April 9: closed. The location of the press room has not yet been determined. A follow up e-mail with the press room location and a schedule of press conferences will follow.

 

Housing: Those who have registered for the meeting should call Ambassadors at 800 370 8282 for housing (international callers, 404 584 7458). You may be asked if you have registered, tell them that you have registered for the ASCRS meeting and they will book a room for you.
