Posterior capsule rupture (PCR) is the most common serious intraoperative complication of cataract surgery. Proper management can minimize the damage and result in excellent vision to the patient. The key factors are careful inspection, accurate judgement, minimal further ocular trauma, appropriate choice of OVD and IOL. If possible, it’s the best choice to implant IOL into the capsular bag after PCR.
