President Signs Continuing Resolution to Fund Government and Health Programs Through December 20

This week, both the House and Senate passed a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government through December 20. After the Senate passed the stopgap spending bill yesterday, it was sent to President Trump, who signed the measure shortly before current funding expired at midnight.

The continuing resolution also funds a number of health extenders, which cover community health centers; Medicaid in Puerto Rico and other territories; the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic demonstration; National Health Service Corps; teaching health centers’ graduate medical education programs; the Special Diabetes Program and the Special Diabetes Program for Indians; a contract with the National Quality Forum to support quality measure development in Medicare and Medicaid; funding for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund; State Health Insurance Assistance Programs; Area Agencies on Aging; Aging and Disability Resource Centers; and a contract with the National Center for Benefits and Outreach and Enrollment.
