Urgent Request: Tell Congress to Extend Medicare Physician Payment Updates for Two More Years

There is no time to lose! ASCRS needs your help to persuade Congress to extend for two years the positive Medicare physician payment updates to the conversion factor.

According to a recent Medicare Trustee’s report, inflation is expected to increase physician costs by about 2.2% while, at the same time, physicians must comply with rules and regulations, deal with regulatory burdens, and continue to invest in resources to participate in the Quality Payment Program (QPP)—all while providing quality care for Medicare beneficiaries. Congress must extend positive updates to the Medicare physician payment conversion factor for two years so you can continue to make investments in the tools needed for successful participation in the QPP and provide the best possible care for your Medicare patients.

ASCRS is working with the Alliance of Specialty Medicine and the medical community to get the positive updates implemented before the end of 2019, but we need your help. ASCRS and ASOA members are urged to contact their Members of Congress today.

Visit the ASCRS ASOA advocacy action center to learn more about this important issue and send an instant email to your Representative and Senators TODAY! Be sure to log in using the email address and ZIP code where you receive ASCRS correspondence. We’ve provided the body of the email, but we encourage you to personalize your message and include examples of how a freeze on payment updates would affect your practice and patients.
