Glistenings, liquid-filled microvacuoles that accumulate within the lens polymer, are predominantly reported in IOLs made of hydrophobic acrylic material. The authors evaluated how the number of glistenings affected IOL performance and found spherical aberration had a more significant impact on IOL imaging quality than numerous glistenings.
