IFIS is a well-known entity that complicates cataract surgery. In cataract campaigns for the indigenous Xingu Indians that we have been carrying out in the Amazon area, we have noticed a higher frequency of severe IFIS. This film looks at IFIS in the Xingu Indians, discusses the surgical issues and how to overcome them. We also consider the reasons why they get such ‘serious’ IFIS.
