William G. Myers, MD

Dr. Myers graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1978 and completed his residency at the Northwestern University School of Medicine where he continues on their faculty.
Dr. Myers has practiced in Evanston and Skokie, Illinois for over 30 years. Dr. Myers created the Northwestern Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Mentorship Program in 2002, personally training over 30 resident ophthalmologists in surgical center performed procedures using simulation techniques and in surgery mentoring. He is the lead instructor at annual ASCRS and American Academy of Ophthalmology courses on intracameral agents.
Upon near-retirement from private practice, he is now a full time educator and researcher at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, training the next generation of ophthalmologists at Northwestern and the University of Illinois. He performs research in the fields of ophthalmic pharmacology and microbiology, having introduced a drop-free dilation regimen to the US, along with optimizing the ocular antisepsis protocol.
