Toric IOL Axis Alignment by Total Corneal Astigmatism with Femtosecond Laser Marking and Intraoperative Aberrometry
2017
Author: P. Dee G. Stephenson, MD, ABO

Purpose:

o compare toric IOL axis determination by total corneal astigmatism (Cassini TCA) with femtosecond guided corneal marking (LENSAR) and intraoperative aberrometry (ORA, Alcon)

Methods:

In this prospective comparative study, axis marks based on Cassini Total Corneal Astigmatism were placed with the LENSAR Femtosecond Laser IntelliAxis system. Intraoperative measurements were obtained using ORA. Vector analysis was used to calculate the difference between preoperative total corneal astigmatism, femtosecond-guided corneal marks and intraoperative aberrometry-measured astigmatism.

Results:

A total of 25 eyes of 25 subjects have been enrolled. Data collection is ongoing.

Conclusions:

Extent of agreement between preoperative total cornea and intraoperative aberrometry measurements in terms of recommended toric IOL alignment will be determined.
