Secondary Intraocular Lenses (IOL) are implanted using transscleral methods to manage eyes without capsular support. The IOL haptics are pulled transclerally into pockets using a forceps or a needle. Here we show a novel technique of using a Nitinol tube to externalise and implant the haptic of the IOL into the scleral pocket leading to less haptic injury and IOL tilt post operatively.
