Persistent pupillary membrane is usually asymptomatic except in cases like this 6-year-old boy in which the opacity over the lens prevented the development of normal visual acuity. We believe that the use of vitreoretinal surgery forceps is extremely useful to extract this tissue without damaging the anterior capsule of the lens. The extraction allowed a complete recovery of the vision.
