As patients develop presbyopia, they experience difficulty in intermediate and near vision. Laser scleral microporation (LSM) is a novel procedure that restores their Dynamic Range of Focus (DROF) by uncrosslinking scleral myofibrils, decreasing scleral biomechanical stiffness, and increasing ciliary muscle forces to increase lens shape changes during accommodation and disaccommodation.
