An IOL retraction suture is a very simplest way by which an IOL drop into the vitreous cavity could be avoided, in addition to helping in identification and re-grabbing of IOL haptics when inadvertently lost during externalization process in scleral fixations or in sulcus fixations in cases with deficient posterior capsule, thus preventing major complications and vitreoretinal interventions.
