Recurrent corneal erosion (RCE) syndrome is characterised by recurrent breakdown of corneal epithelium, treated by generalized PTK in refractory cases. We developed a novel technique - a customised tissue sparing phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) using the PTK-CAM module of Schwind-Amaris RS1050, resulting in complete resolution of symptoms without treatment induced refractive errors
