Course Description
Course will address the growing need for advanced training of anterior segment surgeons to successfully manage lens-based pathology through the pars plana ("middle segment surgery"). Many anterior segment surgical challenges (e.g. subluxated IOLs, vitreous prolapse around intact capsule) are best resolved by entering the anterior vitreous cavity through the pars plana.

Educational Objective
Select the appropriate IOL for middle segment surgery and understand the different types of surgical approaches for middle segment surgery.
