New CME Roundtable Covers IOLs—Preop Through Postop
A new CME roundtable* produced by ASCRS Live!, a popular educational dinner series that made its way to several U.S. cities last year and that will continue this year, is online now. The roundtable—with faculty Mitchell Weikert, MD, Leela Raju, MD, Beeran Meghpara, MD, Jennifer Loh, MD, and Vance Thompson, MD—covers considerations for IOLs within cataract surgery.
The discussion centers around:
- The preop patient assessment, effective IOL counseling, IOL selection, and expectation setting;
- Evaluation of advanced IOL technologies, including monofocal, enhanced monofocals, toric, EDOF, multifocal, small aperture, and customizable;
- Astigmatism management; and
- Approaches for handling patients who are concerned or dissatisfied postop.

ASCRS Film Festival Now Accepting ‘Shorts’
The ASCRS Film Festival has created a new category for 2025: ASCRS Shorts!
These films, which should be 2 minutes or less, can showcase any clinical category listed on page 21 of the ASCRS Annual Meeting Submission Guide. Read through pages 20–23 of the Submission Guide to find more details about film submissions. The only difference for ASCRS Shorts submissions is their length (again, 2 minutes or less!).
Please keep in mind that ASCRS accepts 1 film as first producer and 2 as co-producer, for a total of 3 film submissions. This includes films submitted in the Shorts category!
ASCRS Shorts submissions should be completed and sent via this webpage, following the instructions under Scientific Films, by February 18.
