An Operation Sight Volunteer Spotlight Conversation with Micha Goodwin

Witnessing The Impact of Operation Sight

Operation Sight is the ASCRS Foundation's domestic charitable cataract surgery program. With almost 6,000 free surgeries provided to uninsured and underinsured Americans, the program's reach is made possible by its volunteer network of ASCRS members and local organizations.

Operation Sight recognizes its volunteers for their commitment to making cataract care accessible in their local communities. Since 2018, Central Florida Eye Specialists has been a prime example of the program's mission, ensuring patients in financial need receive the care that they deserve. After attending the 2018 ASCRS Annual Meeting, Kevin Barber, MD, shared with Micha Goodwin, physician liaison of the practice, that he wanted to participate with the program and their involvement has since provided immeasurable impact to Operation Sight patients.

Micha is an asset to Operation Sight, continuously going the extra-mile to provide the highest standard of patient care. In a recent conversation, our program manager, Jaya Minhas, was able to speak with Micha about the impact she witnesses first hand with Operation Sight patients.
