One of the factors to reduce PCO is a capsulorhexis smaller than the diameter of the IOL optic, creating a tight "shrink wrap" around the IOL. However, there is strong evidence that IOLs keeping the capsular bag open/expanded have improved bag clarity. This concept is described in this video, and illustrated through surgical videoclips, clinical photographs, and histopathological evaluation.
