ICL is a safe option as a refractive treatment for patients with high myopia at a young age however it is not exempt from complications, this video shows a patient that had an ICL for the last 10 years, now at 36 years old he consults for visual loss in his left eye, he developed an anterior subcapsular cataract, he underwent surgery to remove the ICL and phacoemulsification + IOL implantation.
