We present a new Y shaped chopper design with a straight rod on one end and a curved chopper on the other. In cases with smaller pupil size or eyes presenting with intra-operative floppy iris the instrument allows simultaneous iris retraction and nuclear piece emulsification in a single step, thus minimizing the risk of inadvertent intraoperative complications.
