There has been growing interest in the changes that occur in the vitreous interfaces (both anterior and posterior) following phacoemulsification. However, there has been a lack of ways to prevent or minimize any potential damage to the vitreous interface. With this in mind, we present strategies that aim to preserve the anatomy of the vitreous humor during phacoemulsification.
