Suture-guided haptic Fixation (S-FIX) device: a unique 5-0 nylon suture glued to a 200 micron diameter polyimide tube. After transscleral exteriorisation, the IOL haptic is docked in this tube and simply follows the suture bite into the sclera. It obviates the need for sutures, conjunctival peritomy, scleral flap or tunnel, glue, flange etc. yet achieves stable intrascleral fixation of the haptic.
