The development and use of a modified phaco sleeve is described. The sleeve replaces the regular one during aspiration of epinucleus and cortex, thus eliminating the need for an I/A handpiece. Expected benefits are cost effectiveness, improved durability of the sleeve, shorter surgical time, smaller carbon footprint, smaller contamination risk and excellent stabilization of AC.
