Young Eye Surgeon International Service Grant Applications Due Soon
The ASCRS Foundation’s Young Eye Surgeons International Service Grant was created to inspire young eye surgeons to become involved with global eyecare on a long-term basis. The grant affords the opportunity to participate in healthcare systems, including teaching institutions and community programs, in developing countries.
Working with the ASCRS Foundation and its international partners, recipients will develop a customized international volunteer plan that provides the opportunity for a young eye surgeon to learn first-hand the intricacies behind global eyecare efforts.
The ASCRS Foundation is accepting grant applications for the 2024 Young Eye Surgeons International Service Grant until Monday, September 25. To learn more about this grant and to apply, click here.
5 Reasons to Support eyePAC—What’s Yours?
eyePAC, the voluntary, non-partisan political action committee representing ophthalmic surgeons, depends on the support of surgeons like yourself. Your investment in eyePAC helps ASCRS support candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives who fight for the issues important to you and your patients.
Here are 5 reasons to support the collective voice advocating for the best interests of ophthalmic surgery:
1) If you resent the constant threat of Medicare payment cuts and the lack of inflationary adjustment for physicians over the last 20+ years.
2) If you spent more than a decade training and refining surgical techniques to have others question the time and intensity of cataract surgery potentially impacting reimbursement
3) If you want to support action and speak with a collective voice across the specialty.
4) If you want to help ASCRS educate members of Congress on issues important to you and your practice.
5) If you think it’s important to make a difference in your profession and protect the future of anterior segment surgery.
