Phacoemulsification is the most common surgical procedure today. Overall, the procedure is safe but there is still a small but significant risk of complication. We found that low infusion pressure settings and active fluidics technology reduce the incidence of disruption of the posterior chamber-anterior hyaloid membrane barrier, endothelial cell loss, ischemic damage to retina and optic nerve.
