We report a case of traumatic injury from an innocuous tamarind seed. This unusual mechanism of injury resulted in a plugged corneal wound, white cataract and ballooning of the posterior capsule with no intraocular foreign body to be found. Each surgical step of this case required caution and skill to deal with unexpected findings, including posterior capsule membranes, along the way.
