Small-Group Setting & Hands-On Experience at BRiCS

There are several things that make the ASCRS Business of Refractive Cataract Surgery (BRiCS) Summit unique, but perhaps one of the most valuable aspects of this inaugural meeting, taking place September 27–28 in Irving, Texas, is its small-group setting.

By limiting the class size, the BRiCS Summit environment will be ripe for faculty-attendee interaction and impactful learning. There will be 7 hands-on learning lab sessions where attendees will put what they’ve learned from expert faculty into action, solidifying lessons learned and beginning ongoing mentorship between attendees and faculty.

There are still a couple of weeks left to enroll in this new offering, which includes an intensive, in-person course and the take-home resource library

Submit a Nomination for the Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award

The ASCRS Foundation is accepting nominations for the Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award, established in 2017 to honor important humanitarian work in the field of cataract blindness and disability in the U.S. and around the world.

This award recognizes the exceptional career of a humanitarian and, through the generous endowment of David and Victoria Chang, will donate $100,000 to a charitable ophthalmology organization of the honoree’s choice.

Nominations submitted in prior years remain active and under consideration for the ASCRS Nominating Committee to review and present to the ASCRS Foundation Board of Directors.

Submit a nomination for the Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Award—due October 1.

Deadline extended! Applications for the Young Eye Surgeons International Service Grant are still being accepted. This grant opportunity was created to inspire young eye surgeons to become involved with global eyecare on a long-term basis. Click here to apply by September 22.

Upcoming ASOA Encore Presentation

The American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA) is preparing for its next ASOA Encore session as part of an online series based off of popular sessions from the 2024 ASOA Annual Meeting. These sessions are being re-presented live in a webinar format due to popular demand and relevance.
