Description
A novel approach to use a diode pumped 2.94 micron Er:YAG laser to surgically remove tissue is presented. The system combines diode laser technology with emerging fiber technologies (PCF-Photonic Crystal Fibers) for guiding this specific wafelength into the eyeball. The novel technology offers the possibility to locally treat tissue and allow for usage of a broad spectrum of laserparameters to microsurgically remove all kind of soft and hard tissue.
