Description
We describe an efficient new device “Terminator” the wedge tool, a classical simple machine to crack and break hard cataracts. Terminator amplifies the magnitude of driving force and changes the direction of radial force applied to its blunt end into forces perpendicular to its inclined surfaces. When driven into a solid hard cataract generates transversal fracture force which causes hard nucleus to crack and split in tension with higher level of efficiency and safety.
