Description
To decrease the use of ultrasound power during phacoemulsification, pre-fracture techniques have been developed. We will describe the contra-chop technique. It needs oposite corneal incisions. After hydro-dissection, two needle-like instruments positioned from the lens periphery to the center, fracture the lens in two or more quadrants, followed by phacoemulsification with IOL implantion.
