Animation of eye vascular development in comparison with surgical videos may explain the broad spectrum of PFV findings. Histological findings in combination with the course of surgery show a high variability in the interaction of PFV and lens capsule. Our findings point to the limited validity of animal models and indicate various etiopathogenetic aspects of cataract associated with PFV.
