Femtosecond surgery helps in dense cataracts, however less data exists for more complex corneal/lens scenarios. Optimized settings can make certain cases with prior surgery, more routine: radial keratotomy, ring segments, vitrectomy, aphakic intact capsule, or a collamer lens. The value of using the laser in tough cases is real; it can lower the stress on the eye, and also on the cataract surgeon.
