Description
Patients with corneal opacities don't always require a transplant and may benefit from cataract surgery alone. This video demonstrates the use of a pars plana "Chandelier" endoillumination system to perform phaco in the presence of significant corneal opacities. The microscope light is switched off and the endoilluminator is turned on to get a good red glow.This technique can safely be used in hard cataracts and small pupils in patients with corneal opacities.
