This course will discuss the management of the extreme white or black cataract. The presentation will review preoperative evaluation, surgical techniques (manual phaco versus femtosecond), and intraoperative tips for uneventful surgery. Videos will highlight how to avoid and manage more commonly encountered challenges, such as the runaway or incomplete capsulorhexis, fragmenting the rock-hard nucleus or Morgagnian cataract, and managing associated zonular weakness.
