During this instructional course, panelists will review and update surgical approaches for performing IOL exchanges using a video-based format. Topics will include how to tailor the preoperative evaluation for IOL exchange, out-of-the bag IOL dislocation after PCR, IOL exchange to correct refractive surprise after cataract surgery, and IOL/bag complex dislocation with different intrascleral fixation techniques. Attendees will learn how to perform a pertinent preop evaluation for strategic surgical planning, using different techniques to manage the implants. Secondary IOL implantation approaches and pearls on how to optimize outcomes to make this procedure safer will also be covered.
