Tony Mai, MD
Dr. Tony Mai grew up in Southern California, completing his undergraduate studies in microbiology and immunology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then finished his M.D. degree at the University of Iowa and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Utah Moran Eye Center. He is now doing a cornea, glaucoma, and refractive surgery fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision and will be starting a short global ophthalmology fellowship with the Moran Eye Center shortly after. He aims to be an excellent anterior segment surgeon, with the intention to teach these skills both locally and globally. Dr. Mai is passionate about international work, especially by increasing the capacity of local physicians through education and surgical training. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoor enthusiast, with hobbies spanning camping, backpacking, and snowboarding.

Van Nguyen, MD
Dr. Van Nguyen is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California (USC) and a glaucoma specialist dedicated to advancing equitable eye care through artificial intelligence (AI) and global partnerships. His research at USC bridges AI and healthcare disparities, including developing an AI system to detect referable glaucoma in underserved populations as well as publications on healthcare disparities and biases. His current global efforts span clinical, surgical, and AI collaborations with hospitals in Querétaro, Mexico, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He aims to advance glaucoma management through accessible, fair AI innovations and community-centered strategies.

Sana Qureshi, MD
Dr. Sana Qureshi is a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon at Corneal Associates of New Jersey in Fairfield, NJ.
Dr. Qureshi graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York University with a B.A. in Political Science at the age of 19 as NYU’s youngest degree candidate that year. She received her M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she was elected into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Socieities. For her postgraduate training, Dr. Qureshi completed her internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She then went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at the Kellogg Eye Center, University of Michigan where she served as chief resident and was awarded the Walter R. Parker Resident Teaching Award and the Paul R. Lichter Resident Mentor Award. Subsequently, she pursued additional subspecialty training in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Qureshi is passionate about eye banking and research to improve and regulate tissue preservation. She was awarded the Best Paper of the Session Award during the 2021 Eye Bank Association of America Annual Meeting. She hopes to work to increase access to corneal tissue in the developing world by establishing sustainable local eye banking programs. She loves spending time with her husband and two little boys, traveling, and playing video games.

Imane Tarib, MD
Dr. Imane Tarib is a young Ophthalmologist specializing in Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery. Originally from Morocco, she earned her medical degree with honors from the University Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah in Fez. She went on to complete her Ophthalmology Residency at the esteemed Military Teaching Hospital Mohammed V, affiliated with Ibn Sina University in Rabat. Dr. Tarib expanded her expertise in the United States, conducting 2 research fellowships in Digital Health at Eye Consultants of New Jersey and in Refractive Surgery at the Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic. She further pursued two fellowships in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery—first at the prestigious University of Illinois at Chicago and currently at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Dr. Tarib’s work is a blend of clinical excellence and innovative approaches to promoting equitable access to eye care and raise awareness on corneal diseases. Her dedication to global ophthalmology is focused on finding ways to advance eye donation systems in underserved communities. A compassionate physician and a committed mentor, Dr. Tarib continues to hone her skills while inspiring others to join the mission of improving access to excellent eye care worldwide.
