Module 1: Comprehensive Corneal Refractive Surgery in 2022: The Patient Workup, Surgery, and Postoperative Considerations
Non-CME Archive Available Online Now
In this module, we will discuss important considerations and guidelines as to who are the most ideal patients for three keratorefractive surgeries: LASIK, PRK, and SMILE. Additionally, the advantages and disadvantages of each, including preoperative pearls, surgical technique and tips, and postoperative care, will be reviewed. This session will explore when to consider wavefront-optimized, wavefront-guided, and topography-guided photoablation. Pearls on both primary laser vision patients and fine-tuning premium implant surgeries with laser vision correction will also be taught.

Module 2: An In Depth View on Depth of Focus: Advances in Topical Presbyopia Therapy and Small Aperture IOLs
Non-CME Archive Available Online Now
This session will examine the advances in small aperture optics that increase depth of focus, reduce aberrations, and improve the quality of vision at distance and near. Topical therapy for presbyopia is an enormous unmet need, affecting 120 million Americans and 2 billion people worldwide. The FDA will approve several topical medications this year, with a robust pipeline to follow. New IOLs in FDA trials offer small aperture optics to improve vision in patients with irregular corneas and provide quality distance and intermediate vision without spectacle correction. The future of small aperture optics is extremely promising.

Module 3: Intraocular Refractive Surgery: Expanding Surgery Correction Options
Non-CME Archive Available Online Now
This module will dive deep into phakic IOLs and clear lens replacement strategies, including information on EVO ICL clinical results and advanced sizing methodologies such as intraoperative OCT and high-frequency UBM. Moreover, this session will examine the advances of new EDOF IOLs approved by the FDA, main features and patient selection criteria.

Module 4: Putting it All Togther, The Patient Refractive Journey
Non-CME Archive Available Online Now
This session will discuss how refractive surgery techniques and technologies can be implemented to provide refractive independence over the lifetime of a patient, solve complicated refractive challenges, and enhance the results of previous refractive surgeries. Corneal-based surgeries, refractive lens technologies, pharmaceutical strategies, and surgical techniques have evolved, expanding our ability to meet and exceed patient expectations. In this session, we will take a deeper dive into the EDOF lens category. The interplay of different refractive techniques allows for the flexibility needed to tailor our approach to individual patient pathology and goals. A case-based discussion will be presented to illustrate the variety of refractive tools available and how they can be combined to improve outcomes.
