During the current uncertainty, the ASCRS Foundation hopes that you are well and safe.
We remain grateful for our community for their continued support of our domestic and international initiatives to prevent cataract blindness. It is in these times of crisis that we are reminded of the true meaning of unity and commitment, and despite the current
challenge, we celebrate our collective impact with gratitude.

In April, in celebration of National Volunteer Week, the Foundation launched a digital campaign, "Here’s to You", across its Twitter and LinkedIn platforms.
The campaign recognized and commended those volunteers who support the Foundation’s mission year-round. We remain humbled by those who serve on committees and in leadership roles, and volunteer through Operation Sight, the Foundation’s domestic charitable
cataract surgery program. Their compassion, expertise, and dedication make our mission achievable.
Until we can resume this life-changing work, we hope you will revisit the celebration through the Foundation’s
Twitter
and LinkedIn
accounts, and check out the posts recognizing our phenomenal volunteers!

The
Operation Sight volunteer
network fuels our mission to provide thousands of patients in need with charitable cataract surgery. We are grateful for the life-changing work of all our volunteer practices.
We recognize those who completed over 50 charitable cataract surgeries
in 2019-2020:
Center for Sight
Cornerstone Charitable Clinic
Dean McGee Eye Institute
Eye Surgeons of Richmond
Hamilton Eye Institute Surgery Center
Houston Eye Associates Foundation
I Care San Antonio Vision Center
Operation Access
Operation Sight, SC
Servants for Sight
We continue to screen patients and accept applications during this time. We anticipate the number of patients who will qualify for
Operation Sight to dramatically increase as the unemployment rate rises across the country. For many patients, surgery will give them not only the gift of sight, but the key to regaining employment to provide for their families. Should you know of a patient
who may qualify, please refer them to our
patient information page.
