Description: This symposium is a joint venture between the Refractive Surgery and Glaucoma Clinical Committees. Attendees will learn about refractive management in patients with glaucoma including preoperative assessments, intraoperative strategies, and post operative refractive considerations in patients with glaucoma.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, attendees should be able to:
- Describe the key considerations for performing cataract refractive surgery in glaucoma patients, including preoperative assessment and patient selection
- Evaluate the different types of intraocular lenses (IOLs) for refractive cataract surgery in glaucoma patients.
- Analyze the impact of glaucoma medications on ocular surface health and cataract surgery outcomes.
- Analyze the impact of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) on refractive cataract surgery outcomes and develop strategies for optimizing both glaucoma management and refractive results in combined procedures.
