Description
The back-flow hydrodissection technique was developed. The irrigation line is connected to the aspiration port of an I/A handpiece using a female-female connector, while the irrigation port is left open. By irrigating BSS from the aspiration tip opening with constant pressure, hydrodissection is gently performed. Since excess BSS is evacuated via the sleeve lumen, IOP fluctuation/spike is minimum and iris prolapse from the wound is unlikely to occur.
