This film provides examples of common pitfalls encountered during the Yamane technique for trans-scleral intraocular lens fixation and demonstrates surgical techniques to overcome them. Engaging the leading haptic of the IOL with the needle during IOL injection minimizes manipulation needed to successfully engage the first haptic is one of several pearls discussed. Overcoming common pitfalls of the Yamane Technique can improve surgeon outcomes.
