The conventional methods of measuring vision relies on assessing visual acuity on standard charts. However simply quantifying the vision is no longer enough; quality of vision also needs to be considered. Quality of vision is an important contributor to patient dissatisfaction post cataract and refractive surgery despite 20/20 acuity. It can be affected right from the tear film to the visual pathway terminating in the occipital cortex.
