Mastering DMEK surgery remains a challenge for most surgeons. An often overlooked factor in the success of DMEK surgery is the critical importance of continually modulating the anterior chamber depth to unscroll the graft, center it, and flip it. The authors illustrate the effects of a uniformly and asymmetrically shallow anterior chamber during DMEK surgery using a surgical simulator in 3D.
