“As industry leaders in medical software we are proud to support a leader in ophthalmology education and support of medical practices throughout the country with all ASCRS projects, including the ASCRS Foundation.”
Michael Rivers, MD - Senior Medical Director of Ophthalmology at ModMed
ASCRS Foundation: What is your mission?
ModMed: At ModMed, our mission is to place doctors and patients at the center of care through an intelligent, specialty-specific cloud platform. That is why our Electronic Medical Assistant, EHR, EMA® brings a new approach to cloud-based software platforms. Created by physicians, our touch-based ophthalmology app intuitively adapts to the unique style of each user by remembering their preferences to help healthcare professionals save time and deliver outstanding quality care. That’s why ophthalmologists nationwide have ranked EMA #1 among ophthalmology EHRs in independent Black Book™ surveys for six consecutive years. We’ve rolled what the best EHR has to offer into our ophthalmology EHR to help doctors streamline workflow and enhance patient care.
ASCRS Foundation: Can you offer your perspective on how your mission and the ASCRS Foundation’s mission intersect?
ModMed: As a physician, my goal has always been to deliver high-quality medical care on an individual-by-individual basis. As I switched careers, I still have that goal but now support thousands of providers treating tens of thousands of patients. Patient care is at the center of everything done by both ModMed and the ASCRS Foundation.
ASCRS Foundation: How do you hope your gift will impact ophthalmology via our mission to provide physician education and humanitarian eyecare to those in need?
ModMed: There are still medically underserved areas in the US, and we are hopeful this gift will help alleviate treatable visual disability in those patients.
ASCRS Foundation: Anything else you would like to share?
ModMed: We continue to hear from our clients that the practice of medicine has become more and more complicated. We appreciate that education of all ophthalmology practices is such an important part of the ASCRS Foundation.
ASCRS Foundation: We are grateful for ModMed’s support of the ASCRS Foundation. Their continued commitment to our mission has made an incredible impact.
